Summer School on Crash and Impact of Aircraft Structures with Function and Sensor Integration

Dresden Center for Intelligent Materials (DCIM), the Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf (HZDR), the Institute of Lightweight Engineering and Polymer Technology (ILK), TU Dresden and the Department of Mechanical Engineering & Aeronautics (MEAD), UPAT.


Explore the captivating realm of aircraft structures at the M2BRIDGE-DCIM Summer School 2024 in Dresden. Delve into crash and impact loads, functional integration, and structural monitoring using specialized sensor technology. Engage with experts from Greece and Germany to discover the latest advancements in the field.
Distinguished speakers from DCIM, TUD, HZDR, and the University of Patras will lead a 4-day workshop with a focus on:

  • Crash and impact dynamics
  • Innovative smart materials
  • Integration of sensors and development of smart structures
  • Analysis and practical applications of data

Throughout the summer school, participants will explore diverse facets of structural and composite material modeling, integration of functionalities, and best practices in technology. The ultimate goal is to gain a holistic understanding of technologies shaping the future design of aircraft components.
Beyond technical presentations, the program will feature interactive workshops, laboratory tours, and collaborative competitions. Participants will also gain hands-on experience in high-velocity testing and cutting-edge analysis methodologies.
